On June 30, 2012, just before 11pm, Teulon RCMP as well as local emergency services were dispatched to the scene of a fatal vehicle rollover on Highway 17, near RD 91 north.

Initial investigation indicates that a 2008 Ford pick-up truck was travelling south on Highway 17 when it left the roadway and rolled over at least once, ejecting the driver. The driver, a 47-year-old man from the RM of Eriksdale was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

An RCMP Traffic Collision Analyst attended to assist with the investigation. Police say that the highway was closed for several hours in order to conduct the investigation and safely remove debris.

RCMP report that there were no other persons or vehicles involved and that seat belt use is considered a factor in this fatality.

Police continue to investigate.
