RCMP supplied picture of what the stolen handgun looks like, note this is not the stolen gun.

Selkirk RCMP are asking the public for assistance in connection with a stolen handgun incident that occurred this past May.

On May 30, 2012, the Selkirk RCMP Rural Detachment responded to a break and enter at a Canada Post Office in Libau, Manitoba. It has since been determined that a parcel containing a restricted firearm was stolen along with mail.

Police say that the stolen gun, a SAM Commander, 9mm, semi-automatic handgun, remains at large.

Despite police efforts in this investigation the handgun has not been recovered.
