An investigation by the RCMP D Division Internet Child Exploitation Unit, which began in July 2012, resulted in a man facing luring charges.

On August 21, 2012, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the City of Winnipeg. Two computers and related items were seized.

The suspect, identified as 46-year-old Kevin John Schmidt of Winnipeg, was arrested and has since been charged with three counts of luring to commit sexual interference and one count of luring to commit invitation to sexual touching. Schmidt is scheduled to appear in Winnipeg Provincial Court on October 29, 2012.

The investigation continues with the assistance of the RCMP Integrated Technological Crime Unit.
