Portage la Prairie RCMP have laid charges in connection with a contraband cigarette investigation that began earlier this month.

Just before 5:30pm on September 5, 2012, while conducting an investigation, Portage la Prairie RCMP and General Investigation Section seized a quantity of contraband cigarettes.

During the investigation, police attended Tecza Motors on Saskatchewan Avenue in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. Subsequent investigation revealed that contraband cigarettes were being sold from that location.

Both are scheduled to appear in Portage la Prairie Provincial Court on October 1, 2012.
