On September 30, 2012, just before 10pm, Blue Hills RCMP along with the RM of South Cypress Fire and EMS were dispatched to the scene of a vehicle rollover on Road 81W, half a mile south of Glenboro.

Early investigation suggests that the driver, identified as a 16-year-old from the area, lost control of a 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche and rolled into a field.

Police say that there were four occupants in the vehicle at the time of the collision, two males and two females. One 15-year-old female passenger of Glenboro was transported to Glenboro Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. No other serious injuries were reported by the other three on board the vehicle.

RCMP Traffic Collision Analyst and members of the Criminal Crash Investigation Team along with the Blue Hills Detachment continue to investigate. The victim was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the collision. Driver inexperience is also believed to be a contributing factor in this collision.
