On October 3, 2012, just before 9am, Selkirk RCMP Detachment along with St. Andrews Fire Department, responded to a building fire at the Viterra storage shed, just off of Highway 8, close to Petersfield. Police say that an employee had arrived at the building and noticed smoke coming from the entrance door.

Video surveillance shows a lone male and a vehicle at the crime scene.

RCMP report that the fire was extinguished and signs of a break and enter and arson were detected. The Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner will be investigating the cause in collaboration with the RCMP.

Video surveillance at the scene reveals a lone male and a vehicle. The lone male is described with a slender build, wearing a hoodie, sweat pants and gloves. The vehicle is a dark coloured Chevrolet 4-door truck with side rails on top of the truck bed.

Police say that damage estimates for the fire are not available and there are no reports of injuries at the present time.
