On November 2, 2012, at about 10:45pm, Lundar RCMP Detachment and local EMS were dispatched to a single ATV rollover on Highway 6, about 10 kilometres south of Lundar in the RM of St. Laurent.

Officers and EMS arrived on scene and found a man, identified as a 30-year-old of Winnipeg, laying on Highway 6 suffering from serious injuries. Police say that he was transported to the E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

RCMP learned that four males were on the quad at the time of the rollover collision. The deceased was one of three passengers onboard. The operator, identified as a 28-year-old man of Oakpoint, along with two other male passengers, were treated at the scene and suffered minor injuries.

The operator was arrested and has since been released on a promise to appear Lundar Court on January 24, 2013, to face impaired related charges.

An RCMP Traffic Analyst is assisting with the ongoing investigation. None of the riders were wearing helmets.
