On November 3, 2012, just after 7:30pm, Swan River RCMP as well as local emergency services were dispatched to a complaint of an injured male in a residence on Shoal River Cree Nation.
On arrival, police located a 36-year-old Shoal River Cree Nation resident with serious injuries caused by an edged weapon. The victim was in stable condition when transported to hospital for treatment.
A 30-year-old man, Rudy Theodore Kematchman, of Shoal River Cree Nation, was arrested and has been charged with attempted murder. He remains in custody.
