As Manitobans we know the freedom and security we enjoy in our province has come with a heavy price. We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to our veterans for the sacrifices they have made defending Canada around the world in wars and peacekeeping missions.

I encourage all Manitobans to make time this Remembrance Day to honour the contributions our soldiers have made to ensure freedom and democracy for us today and for future generations.

On behalf of your government, I extend heartfelt appreciation to those who have served Canada with courage and dignity and to those who continue to ensure peace and human rights are respected around the world.

The spirit and strength of our soldiers, past and present, resonate every day of the year. As we look at a world filled with uncertainty, we must keep their memories strong and cherish and defend the ideals of peace, freedom and equality they fought to preserve.
