On November 14, 2012, at about 3:15pm, RCMP Headingley Traffic Services responded to a snowmobile accident on Highway 100 at Wilkes Avenue.

RCMP learned that two snowmobilers were northbound riding in the ditch on the east side of Highway 100, south of Wilkes Avenue, when they hit a culvert and were ejected from their snowmobiles.

A 32-year-old man was conveyed to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Police say that alcohol is not a contributing factor. Both riders were wearing helmets. One helmet has extensive damage and is attributed to have prevented potential serious head injuries.

Snowmobilers are reminded to use caution when riding and closely watch for potential hazards.
