The Southeast Artists Group will be showcasing hand-crafted creations, from traditional to contemporary to abstract, at Clearspring Centre in Steinbach on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1.

The Artists Group is made up of local artists representing Steinbach, Lorette, Ste Anne, New Bothwell, Vita, Dufresne, St-Pierre-Jolys, Landmark and Morris.

In its three years of existence, Southeast Artists Group has grown from six artists to over 20. The group’s ring leader, Gary Holden, says this is a “unique opportunity for amateur artists to learn from seasoned, professional artists.” The opportunity for mentorship and networking is very inviting. He also says the environment is relaxed and not intimidating, which he believes has influenced its growth, and the quality of the art being produced is exceptional. The Group meets informally every Tuesday morning at the Steinbach Cultural Arts Centre to paint and create together. They also hold a series of shows and live demonstrations throughout the year, including Steinbach’s Summer in the City Festival.
