The Steinbach Aquatic Centre is pleased to see enrolment numbers are up for the winter session of swimming lessons. Registration began just yesterday.

“This is a great session for enrolling youth in lessons,” said Dean Janzen, Aquatic Centre Manager. “Traditionally it is a little slower than other sessions and therefore usually offers a better selection of times and less students per class.”

Janzen noted that nearly 690 people have already enrolled, which is 75% of last year’s total enrolment. He attributes this in part to the new email notification service that the Aquatic Centre introduced last week. An email reminder message was sent out to all past lesson participants, including a lesson schedule.

“We have had very positive feedback from the email notification. People appreciate a timely reminder”, says Janzen. Although registration has been busy, Janzen also notes that there is still a good selection of lesson times available.

Registrations will be accepted in-person and over the phone until Dec. 2, after which the Aquatic Centre will be closed for annual maintenance until Dec. 16. During the closure, online registration will continue to be available.
