Tis’ the season to work miracles! And by donating blood you are helping to create a miracle for a hospital patient. This holiday season, Canadian Blood Services is giving local donors a chance to dedicate their ‘miracle’ to someone important to them while at the blood donor clinic. Canadian Blood Services’ special holiday clinic visits Steinbach on December 20.

It’s a blood donation appointment with a seasonal twist. After giving blood, donors can have their picture taken with a personalized miracle dedication message at our festive photo booth. Photos will be uploaded to our provincial Facebook page and donors can share their miracle with friends and family online. Holiday dedication cards will also be available for donors who would like to share their ‘miracle’ by traditional mail. Fill out the card on site and Canadian Blood Services will mail it for you too.

“At this time of year it can be a challenge to find that perfect gift. Why not give something that literally comes straight from the heart and has great meaning to another family that may have to spend their holidays in hospital,” says Harvey Heather, Community Development Coordinator.

The Steinbach blood donor clinic runs from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on December 20 at the Steinbach Evangelical Mennonite Church, 422 Main St. More than 170 blood donations are needed – that’s enough blood to help 34 people who need blood as part of their cancer treatment. However, more than 100 appointments are still available for this clinic.

Between now and the New Year, approximately 3,900 blood donations are needed in Manitoba. To give your own holiday miracle, please visit www.blood.ca or call 1 888 2 DONATE (1-888-236-6283) and book an appointment today.
