On December 22, 2012, at about 1:30am, Oakbank RCMP Detachment along with area Fire and EMS were dispatched to a residential fire on Edgewood Road in the RM of Springfield.
RCMP officers arrived on scene to find the residence, a single wide trailer, fully engulfed in flames.
Presently, RCMP can confirm one deceased individual was found in the structure. The identity of the individual has not been confirmed and an autopsy will be taking place.
At present an investigation into the cause of the fire is underway with the assistance of the Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner and the RCMP Forensic Identification Section.
Police say that the residence is a total loss.
