On January 3, 2013, at about 8:30am, Norway House RCMP Detachment and Fire Department were dispatched to a fire at the Kinosao Sipi Minisowin Agency Building in Norway House.

The office building housed a Child and Family Services Agency, as well, this building had new extensions currently being added to the structure.

RCMP report that the cause of the fire remains under investigation, however, it is considered arson.

Police say that no one was hurt in the blaze and that no one was in the building at the time of the fire. A damage estimate is not available at this time but it is believed to be in excess of one million dollars.

Norway House RCMP Detachment are being assisted by the RCMP Thompson Major Crime Unit, the Manitoba North Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team (CREST) and the Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner who continue to investigate. No arrests have been made to date.
