On January 17, 2013, at about 10:45pm, Swan River RCMP and Fire Department, along with Parkland EMS, were dispatched to a 2 vehicle collision on Highway 83 near Kenville, Manitoba.
RCMP report that a semi truck was traveling north on Highway 83 when a southbound vehicle drifted into the oncoming lane causing a collision to the sides of each vehicle. Police say that the southbound vehicle did not stop, but continued on in a southbound direction.
RCMP report that the semi had minimal damage to the truck and no damage to the trailer. No injuries were sustained in this incident. After the collision, the semi truck waited on scene for the arrival of emergency services.
Police say that subsequent patrols did not turn up the southbound vehicle, which could possibly be a dark red or burgundy Chevy Venture.
The police investigation is being treated as a hit and run. Anyone with information pertaining to this incident is asked to contact the Swan River RCMP Detachment at 204-734-4686.
