As a result of a traffic stop last August by Steinbach RCMP, a local resident is now facing charges of driving while being disqualified.

On August 24, 2012, police were on patrol in Steinbach when they completed a traffic stop on Mackenzie Street. Police investigation showed that the driver, Jerry White, was disqualified from driving due to two convictions of impaired operation.

Police say that White’s automobile was impounded for 30 days and he was subsequently charged with driving while disqualified.

On January 17, 2013, White was convicted for driving while disqualified. He received a 5 year driving prohibition, along with a $2,000 fine as a result of the traffic stop.
