On February 11, 2013, as part of an ongoing investigation, Arborg RCMP charged a business in Riverton Manitoba with several offences under the Liquor Control Act. The business is a general store that houses a Manitoba Liquor Control Commission licensed outlet.

Police have charged Bilinski Enterprises Ltd., operators of “The Other Place” with sale of alcohol for resale, 3 counts of unlawful sale of alcohol and sale out of hours. Bilinski Enterprises Ltd. was served a summons to appear in Arborg Provincial Court on April 15, 2013.

RCMP report that the investigation was undertaken in conjunction with the Manitoba Liquor Control Commission.

The resale of liquor has been a target of RCMP investigators in recent months, most recently with the RCMP “D” Division Action Response Team (DART) conducting enforcement of the unlawful transportation of liquor in rural Manitoba. In our recent experience, cutting off the availability of illegal liquor has been shown to reduce the incidence of violent crimes and other Criminal Code offences.

RCMP in Manitoba are committed to making Manitoba communities safer and making effective use of police resources in preventing crime.
