On March 8, 2013 in the early morning hours, while responding to complaints of some teenagers breaking into vehicles in the Kleefeld and Steinbach area, Steinbach RCMP conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle parked in a parking lot in Steinbach.
Police identified 2 adult males in the vehicle and observed open liquor and marijuana inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of approximately 30 grams of marijuana, 12 grams of psilocybin (mushrooms), a quantity of alcohol and imitation firearms.
RCMP report that as a result of this incident, the male driver was given a 24 hour suspension and is facing charges relating to the possession of controlled substances and open liquor. He is set to appear in court in Steinbach in April.
