Steinbach RCMP recently discovered a marijuana grow operation while investigating a domestic assault incident that occurred in the City of Steinbach.

On May 17, 2013, at approximately 9:30am, Steinbach RCMP were dispatched to a domestic assault in the City of Steinbach. During the course of the investigation, police located a marijuana grow operation in the basement of the residence. Police obtained a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and seized approximately 65 marijuana plants.
Police further determined that several children were also residing in the residence. As a result, Child and Family Services, along with Manitoba Hydro provided assistance to the RCMP during the ongoing investigation.
RCMP report that no serious injuries occurred as a result of this incident.
