On June 4, 2013, at 8pm, Dauphin RCMP and local emergency services were dispatched to the scene of a single vehicle collision on road 142 North in the RM of Dauphin near Keld, Manitoba.
Witness reports indicate a 2011 Dodge Ram pick-up truck was travelling westbound on road 142 North at a high rate of speed and went off an embankment into a creek bed. Culverts at the location had been washed out and the drop off was approximately 15 feet deep.
Police say that a 21-year-old man from Brandon was transported to hospital in critical condition. There was no one else in the vehicle.
Investigation indicates the site was well marked with barricades and warning signs. Road conditions and visibility were reported to be good at the time of the collision.
