Two Long Plain First Nation residents are facing drug related charges after being recently arrested by police.

On June 20, 2013, just before 9:30pm, Portage la Prairie RCMP executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Yellowquill Trail East in Long Plain First Nation, Manitoba.

Police say that approximately 43 grams of marihuana, a sum of cash and paraphernalia consistent with that used for the trafficking of a controlled substance was seized from the residence.

RCMP report that a 28-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman, both of Long Plain First Nation, Manitoba, were arrested. Both have been released from custody and are facing charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

RCMP would like to remind the public that those who traffic in illicit drugs destroy lives, homes, and communities. The RCMP remains fully committed to enforcing laws against illicit drugs to their fullest extent. Anyone with information regarding the drug trafficking is asked to call their local police agency or RCMP Detachment.
