On July 2, 2013, at approximately 2:40pm, Steinbach RCMP responded to a complaint of a fire in La Broquerie.
Upon arrival, La Broquerie Fire had already extinguished the fire that had been contained within the ladies washroom of an outdoor picnic/bathroom facility.
Through police investigation, it was learned that the fire was deliberately set by lighting the paper towel dispenser in one of the bathroom stalls. A witness on scene described a teenaged boy exiting the washroom moments before smoke was seen.
The suspect is described as being approximately 13-years-old, wearing a black hat, tanned skin, riding a pink and blue girls bike.
Police are asking for the public assistance in identifying the suspect responsible for this damage.
