On July 13, 2013, Manitou RCMP as well as local emergency services were dispatched to the scene of a fatal motorcycle collision on Highway 3, about one mile east of La Riviere.

Investigation indicates that a man riding a 2006 Harley Davidson was traveling west on Highway 3 with a group of riders when he lost control and was thrown from the motorcycle. The rider, a 75-year-old man from Winnipeg, was transported to hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Police say that he was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

RCMP report that the weather and road conditions were good at the time of the collision and that there were no other injuries or vehicles involved.

An RCMP Traffic Collision Analyst is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
