Two men are facing multiple drug-related charges after being arrested by police yesterday as a result of a traffic stop.

Drugs seized

Cocaine and marijuana seized by RCMP during a traffic stop in Nelson House.

On July 28, 2013, at about 3:15am, Nelson House RCMP conducted a traffic stop while in Nelson House. The traffic stop resulted in 17 flaps of powder cocaine, one gram of marijuana and $230 cash seized.

Police say that the driver, identified as 25-year-old George Howard of Thompson, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA). The passenger, identified as 26-year-old Dezarai Nicholas of Nelson House FN, has been charged with of possession for the purpose of trafficking under the CDSA and failing to comply with an undertaking under the Criminal Code.

RCMP report that both individuals have been released on a recognizance to appear in Nelson House court in September.
