On July 30, 2013, shortly after 3:30am, Stonewall RCMP, Fire and EMS were dispatched to a collision involving a garbage truck and a pick-up truck on Inkster Boulevard, just east of Sturgeon Road.

Early investigation suggests that the pick-up truck was heading east on Inkster Boulevard when it collided with the westbound garbage truck, sending both into the ditch.

RCMP report that the driver of the garbage truck was not injured. The driver of the pick-up truck, identified as a 31-year-old Gimli area man, was taken to hospital where he remains in unstable condition. His injuries are serious in nature but are not considered life-threatening.

Police say that thick fog was reported in the area at the time of the collision. The investigation into what caused the collision is ongoing.
