On August 3, 2013, at about 3:15am Yellowhead RCMP and area EMS received a call of an ATV rollover at the Gaming Centre at Keeseekoowenin FN.
Emergency personnel found the ATV operator, a 17-year-old male, with minor non-life threatening injuries. Also found at the scene was an unconscious 18-year-old female passenger.
RCMP report that both individuals were transported to Shoal Lake hospital. The female has been transferred to a Winnipeg Hospital with undetermined injuries.
The male rider will face charges under the Off Road Vehicle Act. Police believe that alcohol played a role in the rollover and additional charges may be pending.
The investigation continues with the assistance of a Traffic Analyst.
