A Morris man is facing drug trafficking charges after being arrested by police earlier this month.

On August 7, 2013, shortly before 1pm, Carman Area RCMP were on patrol on Highway 14 near Rosenfeld in the RM Rhineland when an eastbound vehicle was observed traveling at a high rate of speed. The car was pulled over and police detected a smell of marijuana, resulting in just over a kilogram of marihuana being seized.

RCMP report that the lone male driver, identified as a 31-year-old man from Morris, was arrested and charged for possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He has since been released on a Promise to Appear in Altona Provincial Court on Wednesday, September 25, 2013.
