RCMP are currently requesting the public’s assistance in locating three male individuals with Irish accents who are suspects in a theft of three rental vehicles in Portage la Prairie that occurred in late July.
The vehicles stolen are described as a 2003 Grey Ford Taurus with licence plate BB5440, a 1999 blue Volkswagen Passat with licence plate GSJ109 and a 2005 Ford E350 White Van with licence plate GSG997. The vehicles stolen all have Manitoba licence plates.
Investigators have since learned that the trio purports to be discount pavers. They are transient and may be going door-to-door to offer their services in Manitoba.
If anyone has any information on their whereabouts or on the vehicles stolen, they are asked to call Portage la Prairie RCMP at 204-857-4445. If approached by the males, please do not confront them, call the police.
The public is also reminded to do their due diligence before agreeing to work being performed to your property. Check the company onlinea and make sure that it is legitimate. Ask for and contact references and ensure the work agreement is in writing. Pay by cheque not cash.
