Just after 12:30am on November 22, 2013, Central Plains RCMP were dispatched to a report of an armed robbery at Karl’s Smoke Shop on Gamblers Road in Dakota Tipi First Nation, Manitoba.

Police arrived within minutes of the initial call. Portage la Prairie Police Dog Service was contacted and attended to assist with the investigation.

Investigation revealed that 3 individuals entered the business. one of the suspects was brandishing a weapon and demanded the staff member open the cash register.

Police say that the suspects stole an undisclosed amount of cigarettes and a cell phone before fleeing from the building. No injuries were reported and police were unable to locate the suspects.

The suspects are all described as Aboriginal in appearance. One male suspect was wearing gray pants, a white hoodie, an orange/red coloured balaclava and carrying a red and black back pack. The second suspect, also a male, was wearing light coloured pants, a gray sweater, a black jacket and an orange shirt worn as a balaclava. The third suspect is believed to be a female and was wearing a gray hoodie, a blue vest and a red/orange coloured balaclava.

Police are actively pursuing all investigational leads. Anyone with information regarding this robbery is asked to call the Portage La Prairie RCMP at 204-857-4445.
