On November 29, 2013, shortly before 4:30am, Pukatawagan RCMP responded to a serious assault in the community.

Police discovered a woman lying in the snow outside of a local business. She had been badly beaten and was suffering from severe trauma to her face and head.

Police say that the victim is a 59-year-old resident of Pukatawagan. She was transported to Winnipeg, where she has been upgraded to stable condition.

RCMP report that a 17-year-old female has been arrested in relation to this matter.
