The driver of a pickup truck that rear-ended an eastbound car on the Trans-Canada Highway this past October has been charged with two counts of dangerous operation causing death and two counts of dangerous operation causing bodily harm.

Police say that the driver, Timothy Langevin, was driving an Office of the Fire Commissioner pick-up truck at the time of this incident. The accident occurred on October 5, 2013, and two people died as a result.

RCMP report that Langevin appeared in Portage la Prairie Provincial Court on December 9, 2013. His next court appearance is scheduled for January 24, 2014.
