At approximately 5:45 PM on Thursday 7 May 2009, Spruce Plains RCMP were called to the scene of a two vehicle collision approximately 10 kms south of Minnedosa on Provincial Highway #10.

Investigation revealed that a number of large rocks had fallen off the back of a northbound gravel truck and collided with a southbound semi-truck. The driver of the southbound semi-truck lost steering control and crossed the center of the highway into the path of a northbound passenger vehicle.

The female driver of the northbound vehicle was extracted from her vehicle by Minnedosa Emergency Services personnel  and was transported to Minnedosa Hospital, treated for minor injuries and later released.

The driver of the northbound gravel truck has been charged for operating a motor vehicle with an unsafe load under the Highway Traffic Act.
