Steinbach RCMP have charged a Sioux Lookout man in connection to an impaired driving investigation that began in August of 2013.

On August 4, 2013, shortly after 7am, Steinbach RCMP and local EMS were dispatched to the junction of Highway 1 and Hwy 12 to a single vehicle rollover.

Police say that the driver was westbound on Highway 1 when he attempted to proceed south on Highway 12, but failed to negotiate the exit ramp and rolled. Three male occupants of the pickup were conveyed to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

After a lengthy investigation, a 20-year-old man from Sioux Lookout Ontario has been charged in relation to this incident. Joseph Nicolaus Alexander Beaulne has been charged under the criminal code with two counts of impaired driving bodily harm and two counts of driving with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 milligrams resulting in bodily harm. Mr Beaulne has also been charged with one count of possession of goods obtained by crime.

RCMP report that Joseph Beaulne has been released from custody on strict conditions and is scheduled to attend court in Steinbach on February 27, 2014.
