Late on May 11, 2009, a 17-year-old girl from Grand Rapids was arrested for arson and released on a promise to appear (with conditions) in connection with a fire that occurred at the Grand Rapids Co-op Grocery Store.
She will be appearing in Grand Rapids Court on July 29, 2009 and be facing arson charges.
The fire resulted in the complete destruction of the only grocery store in Grand Rapids. The damage of the building and its content is estimated at over 1 million dollars.
The name of the young person will not be released.
