After a lengthy investigation, Steinbach RCMP have laid charges in an impaired driving investigation that began last summer.

On June 4, 2013 Steinbach RCMP responded to the scene of an ATV rollover on Center Street in Mitchell. The 41 year-old ATV operator and his 7-year-old daughter, who was a passenger on board, were transported to Bethesda Hospital. Due to the severity of their injuries both individuals were transported to Winnipeg for further treatment.

Polic have now determined that the operator, a 42-year-old man from the RM of Hanover, was impaired by alcohol at the time of the incident. He has subsequently been charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm and has been released on a recognizance to attend Steinbach Provincial Court.
