Thompson RCMP are currently investigating a recent home invasion and are asking the public to help identify a suspect involved in the incident. Assisting in the investigation are RCMP D Division Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team, D Division Forensic Identification Section and RCMP D Division Major Crime Services from Thompson.

On January 30, 2014, shortly after 5:30pm, Thompson RCMP responded to a call of a male who broke into an apartment in the Eastwood area of Thompson, demanding cash and assaulting one of the occupants with a weapon. A male youth in the apartment at the time, reported sustaining non-life threatening injuries. Police were advised that the male subject, who had brandished a knife, was chased from the apartment by other occupants. He fled from the scene on foot. A search of the area was conducted using a police dog, however the male was not located.

The suspect is described as tall, slim-built, Aboriginal male with teardrop-shaped tattoo at the corner of his right eye. He was wearing dark blue jeans with lighter material on the front of the thighs, dark gray winter jacket with fur around the hood, black hooded sweatshirt, grey baseball cap and a black neck warmer up to his cheekbones.

Thompson RCMP are requesting assistance from the public in identifying the suspect as well as any tips regarding this investigation.  Anyone with information in relation to this robbery are asked to contact the Thompson RCMP at 204-677-6909 or Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS).
