Steinbach RCMP report that operating a motor vehicle while using a cellular phone was the cause of a recent collision involving a school bus.
Steinbach RCMP were recently called to Highway 52 to a report of a two vehicle collision involving a school bus. Police investigation determined that both vehicles were traveling west on Highway 52 when the school bus slowed down to turn south onto a gravel road. The vehicle following the school bus failed to slow down and collided with the back of the bus.
The driver following the school bus was issued a ticket for using a cellular phone while operating a motor vehicle.
Steinbach RCMP would like the remind the motoring public to abstain from using their cell phone or any hand held operated device while driving.
