The City of Steinbach is inviting the public to a full day of celebration activities on Canada Day, Tuesday, July 1st with free admission for all events.

Family fun activities start at the Mennonite Heritage Village at 10am with an official flag raising ceremony at 1pm. There will also be a kid’s show, guided tours and family entertainment throughout the afternoon.

Activites will then switch to the Steinbach Soccer Park for the evening with a BBQ from 6pm-10pm at Southland Church. Free Canada Day souvenirs and cupcakes will be distributed starting at 9pm and the big fireworks finale will take place about 10:45pm.

The City notes that prime viewing locations for the fireworks will be in the Soccer Park, Southland Church parking lot, L.A. Barkman Park (Abe’s Hill) and along McKenzie Avenue and Bush Farm Road.

The City is looking for volunteers to assist with handing out the cupcakes and other free giveaways at the Soccer Park starting at 9pm. If you are interested in volunteering, please email communications@steinbach.ca.

The City gratefully acknowledges the financial contribution from the Department of Canadian Heritage’s Celebrate Canada Program
