As part of an ongoing crime reduction strategy, The Pas and Opaskwayak Cree Nation RCMP detachments organized a warrant apprehension initiative that was put in place and rolled out with much success over a two day period.

On Thursday, June 26 and Friday, June 27, 2014, a combined effort between police officers from the two detachments resulted in numerous warrants of arrest being executed throughout the area.

During the execution of the warrants, 12 arrests were made with an additional 24 charges being laid. Police were highly visible during the two day initiative not only executing the warrants but also checking on licenced premises as well as completing over 100 curfew checks.

The RCMP are committed to preserving the peace and upholding the law, creating a safe environment within our communities. With this in mind, RCMP members will continue, on a daily basis, to identify and locate individuals with outstanding warrants.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of individuals with outstanding warrants are asked to contact their local police detachment or Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). A secure tip can also be subbmitted online at www.manitobacrimestoppers.com or text TIPMAN plus your message to Crimes(274637).
