On July 13, 2014, shortly after 4pm, Carman Area RCMP responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision on Road 11 West in the RM of Rhineland, Manitoba, approximately 11 km west of Altona, Manitoba.

Initial police investigation shows a car was traveling southbound on Road 11 West, when it lost control, entered the east ditch and rolled, striking the base of a tree. The 20-year-old female driver from Gretna, Manitoba, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Altona hospital where she was stabilized and then taken to Winnipeg hospital. She remains in critical condition. She was the lone occupant of the vehicle.
