On July 18, 2014, at approximately 7pm, Killarney RCMP responded to a report of a drowning at Rock Lake, about 40 kilometres east of Killarney.

Police say that three males were fishing in a boat when one of them, a 21-year-old from Winkler, fell into the water. Attempts were made by others in the boat to assist the man, but he did not resurface and is presumed drowned. None of the occupants of the boat were wearing life jackets.

RCMP report that the Underwater Recover Team is assisting with the investigation.


On July 21, 2014, Killarney RCMP recovered the body of the 21-year-old male from Winkler. The male was found in the water, in close proximity to where police believe he had fallen in.
