On August 4, 2014, shortly before 3am, Minnedosa RCMP along with local Fire and EMS responded to a serious collision involving a vehicle and three pedestrians. The incident occurred on Provincial Road 262 by Road 85N, close to the entrance of Minnedosa Rock in the Fields.

Initial police investigation shows that a southbound vehicle struck a male and female who were walking along the shoulder of the highway and then proceeded a short distance further and struck another male subject.

Local EMS treated and released on scene a 44-year-old Winnipeg man who had been walking alone. A 25-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, both of Minnedosa, were transported to local hospital where the male pedestrian succumbed to his injuries. The female pedestrian was treated and released.

RCMP report that alcohol is considered to be a factor in the collision.

Minnedosa RCMP have a 37-year-old suspect in custody and continue to investigate.
