On August 22, 2014, just before midnight, Dauphin RCMP executed a Controlled Drug and Substances Act warrant at a residence in Dauphin, Manitoba.

Marijuana seized by RCMP at a Dauphin residence.

When officers entered the residence, they located a grow operation in the basement. Approximately one pound of marijuana buds, bags of cut marijuana, 10 plants and approximately 10 grams of cocaine were seized. A hydroponic system was also seized as well as several weapons, including a firearm and a crossbow.

Police say that Victor Dione Simpson, 50, of Dauphin, was the only one in the home. He was taken into custody. Simpson has been charged and will be facing numerous drug-related charges.

Those who traffic in illicit drugs destroy lives, homes and communities. The RCMP remains fully committed to enforcing laws against illicit drugs to their fullest extent. Anyone with information regarding drug trafficking is asked to call their local police agency or RCMP detachment.
