In Steinbach alone over 450 hampers are expected to be delivered throughout the area this holiday season.
In response to the growing need to make Christmas special for everyone, several organizations throughout the region are devoting their efforts to make Christmas special for everyone.
Donations of all kinds are still needed by these organizations, with the additional need for volunteers to help with deliveries so please, give generously.
Here is a list of organizations providing Christmas hampers this year in various areas. Anyone needing a hamper or knowing someone in need are encouraged to contact any of these organizations.
Grunthal: The Grunthal Churches, Credit Union, gas stations and Grunthal Grocery are accepting donations of foodstuffs and toys to provide to their residents from the community and surrounding area with hampers. You can contact Dave or Kathy Neufeld at 434-9125.
Lorette and Landmark: The Tache Hamper Committee is collecting goods for Tache residents. You can contact Iris Swiderski at 878-3552 for information on how to give or provide her with the name of someone in need.
Ste. Anne: Knights of Columbus in Ste. Anne provides hampers for families within the RM of Ste. Anne including Richer. You can contact Ray Fiola at 422-8150 or 346-2073 for more information.
St. Adolphe and area: The RM of Ritchot collects the names for people wanting a hamper while the food bank in Ile des Chenes and the Salvation Army take care of the collections and delivery. Contact the RM office at 883-2293.
Ile des Chenes: To either donate or put in a name for a hamper, contact Jocelyn at 878-3359.
Steinbach and Area: SouthEast Helping Hands in Steinbach delivers the most hampers in the region. They will be accepting applications until December 17, with deliveries taking place close to Christmas. Call 326-2599 for more information or pick up a registration paper from Clearspring Centre, Helping Hands or AM 1250.
