On December 29, 2014 at about 6pm, Steinbach RCMP, along with local emergency services, were called to an accident scene involving a motor vehicle and three pedestrians. The scene of the accident was on Highway 206, just north of Provincial Road 52 in the RM of Hanover.

Initial police investigation revealed that three teenage females were walking on Highway 206 when they were struck by a motor vehicle.

RCMP report that all three girls have been taken to hospital. One youth was transported via STARS, the other two youth were transported via ambulance. The condition of the youth are unknown at this time and all three youth are from Mitchell, MB. There was also one uninjured occupant in the motor vehicle.

RCMP traffic collision analysts are assisting with the investigation and alcohol is not considered a factor in this incident.

Update

One of the three youth is in stable condition, the second is stable with a broken leg and the third has been released from hospital.
