Sunday, February 15th, will mark the 50th Anniversary of the flag of Canada. Unveiled on February 15th, 1965 the flag that most Canadians have become familiar with was the result of Prime Minister Lester Pearson’s desire to have a national flag not as closely associated with the British flag.

To honour this anniversary, a special display is on exhibit in the Manitoba Legislature that features previous Canadian flags as well as those that were suggested as potential national flags in 1965. The display will be open to the public until February 28.
