The Pas RCMP are seeking public assistance with an investigation involving a recent commercial break and enter, mischief and motor vehicle theft incidents.

On Saturday, May 23, 2015, at approximately 2:50am, The Pas RCMP received a call of a motor vehicle collision near the 300 block of Hogan Avenue in the Town of The Pas.

Police say that a Hudson Bay Rail (HBR) Company Hi-Rail truck collided with a hydro pole after damaging two parked vehicles. The occupant(s) of the truck fled the scene in a second HBR Hi-Rail truck prior to police arrival. RCMP learned that both HBR vehicles were stolen earlier that morning. Manitoba Hydro crews worked to restore power and made repairs. No injuries were reported. The second HBR Hi-Rail truck was recovered later that day.

During the investigation, RCMP officers attended the Hudson Bay Rail Yard in The Pas and discovered that a break and enter had occurred to an office building and additional damages had been done to four other HBR vehicles at that location.

The Pas RCMP and its Forensic Identification Section continue to investigate.
