On September 23, 2015, at approximately 8:45pm, St-Pierre-Jolys RCMP received a report of a cyclist that was struck by a vehicle traveling south on Highway 216, just outside of Grunthal, Manitoba.

Police say that the cyclist, a 10-year-old girl from Grunthal, was transported by STARS with serious injuries and remains in hospital in critical condition. She was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.

RCMP report that the 44-year-old driver of the van remained on scene and is cooperating with police. An RCMP Traffic Analyst attended the scene and is assisting with the ongoing investigation. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this incident.
