This year’s fundraising evening raised a record breaking $28,000, thanks to a sold-out crowd and many local sponsors, including Hillside Construction and Pharmacie Seine. The evening had a festive atmosphere as guests delighted in fresh New-Brunswick lobster and sang along to French traditional songs played by the live band. In total, 600 pounds of lobster was served during the evening.

The event also gave opportunity to thank the Ste-Anne Hospital Fund’s generous donors. “We were happy to take this opportunity to honor a very special donor, Mr. Louis Perrin,” says Ste-Anne Hospital Fund president, Raymond Laflèche. “Mr. Perrin left us a very generous and substantial gift in his will.”

New to the event this year, was the “Wine Pull”, a fundraising activity, sponsored by Pharmacie Dufresne and Pharmacie Centre de Santé La Broquerie. Participants took their chances at winning some very expensive and decadent bottles of wine. Each participant won a bottle of wine to take home, ranging in value from $15 to $50, and had a chance at winning and wine themed grand prize. “We received many compliments and positive feed back on the new Wine Pull,” says Zoé Nakata, Executive Director of the Ste-Anne Hospital Fund. “Our guests really liked this new activity and it’s a great way to raise more money for our hospital.”

Funds raised at this year’s Lobsterfest will go towards the purchase of specialized equipment for the hospital’s new Operating Ward.
